Camel & Horseback Ride
From €23
This is one of the most recognizable ways to experience the plateau — riding a camel or horse out toward the surrounding dunes for a view of the pyramids that on-foot visitors rarely reach. The route typically loops around the back of the site, giving you angles on the monuments most tour groups never see, with the open desert stretching out on the other side.
Handlers lead the animals for most riders, so no prior riding experience is needed, though it's worth agreeing the route, duration and any photo stops before setting off.
Book through a licensed operator or your hotel rather than an unsolicited offer at the gate, and confirm the price upfront — this avoids the most common source of hassle at the site.
